It has taken me all day to figure out how to work ‘spread love, it’s the Brooklyn way’, into today’s post – and I suppose I just did, so with that out of the way, let’s get to more important things, shall we? Like John and Lauren’s gorgeous wedding at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens (see where I was heading?). From the coral and cream color palate, to rustic floral details, their wedding was a perfect representation of the garden itself – homespun tranquility smack dab in the middle of a concrete jungle.
It was also one of my favorite weddings to set-up flowers, since I won ‘street cred’ for driving the big ol’ Sugar Magnolias van from Stony Brook into the heart of Brooklyn. The day started out with overcast, but rain (or as us peeps in the biz say, luck) started moments before the outdoor ceremony was to begin, causing a mad dash to move all flowers, guests, and chairs inside. Despite the weather, Lauren and John remained cool and calm, proving true love always conquers modified wedding details. Love, that can also be seen and felt on film, as Christina Bohn had no problem capturing the sweetness of this couple.
